Interactive walk about performance where Kitt offers make overs to party goes / viewers / participants. Encouraging them to get in touch with their inner toxic masculinity through a variety of techniques including donning facial hair made from genuine paper money.
Interactive DRAG performance including live paper cutting using high value paper currency Title: King Kitt and the Pixelated Pain Duration: 1- 5 hrs Action: Lady Kitt, performing as King Kitt, will sit for the duration of the performance. Kitt will be dressed in a parker coat and crown made of paper money. The artist will cut tiny paper crowns from a genuine £50 note. The crowns will be placed in small glass vials.
Viewers will be invited to help themselves to a vial and pin a paper money donation (any currency) to the King's cloak. These donations will be used in future performances and artworks, including the creation of a money cod piece. Why: Masculinity and money- a strange and strained relationship. Sometimes obsessive, sometimes dismissive, sometimes almost romantic. Ideals of masculinity often include a dominant, frequently risky, relationship with money:
