“Objects of Consent” Socially engaged commission by Newcastle University Working alongside feminist academic Dr Tina Sikka and burlesque artist Trixie Blue to create a series of craft objects which respond to Sikka’s research and recent article: “A Troubling Triplet: Consent, MeToo, and Carceral Feminism”

“Objects of Consent” is on ongoing project initiated in 2019. It is supported Newcastle University and the Gender Research Group (GRG) and co-authored by:
· Dr Tina Sikka (Lecturer, Media, Culture and Heritage(MCH), Newcastle University),
· Kristi Lennon (aka Trixie Blue, Burlesque Performer and PhD Candidate)
· Lady Kitt (socially engaged maker)
All of whom feel consent is an important aspect of their work and daily life. Through collaborative making, talking and sharing aspects of our lives & work we have developed the project which includes the “Spaces of Consent” interactive artwork.
